Dr. Lubna Khondker has been working as Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), which is a postgraduate medical university at Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is well reputed as one of the best dermatologist and dermatosurgeon of Bangladesh. She has a brilliant record both academically and professionally. She is highly qualified dermatologist, treating patients having diseases of skin, hair and nail issues. She has records of proficiently managing exceptionally difficult and complicated referred patients of clinical dermatology in Bangladesh. She has qualified FCPS and MCPS in Dermatology and Venereology from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS), Diploma in Dermatology and Venereology(DDV) from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Master of Public health (MPH) from National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine(NIPSOM), under University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has also achieved FRCP from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom(UK) and MACP from American College of Physicians(ACP) in USA. 

She took vigorous training in dermatology and venereology as well as medicine, from home and abroad before undergoing all these post graduate examinations. She has been performing dermatosurgery like electrosurgery, cryosurgery, skin biopsy, intralesional injection at department of Dermatology, BSMMU from the year 2005 and she had undergone postgraduate fellowship training on ‘Cutaneous surgery and Laser’ at institute of Dermatology(IOD), Bangkok. She has been treating the patients with diseases of dermatology in outpatient department(OPD) as well as admitted patients of department of dermatology, BSMMU in the morning from the year 2005. She also treats the patients of dermatology in the evening in her private chamber. She attends numerous scientific seminars and conferences globally to keep herself updated with the latest developments in the field of Dermatology. She is the faculty member of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition to treating the patient, she serves as a teacher of post graduate level degrees of MD, FCPS and Diploma courses of Dermatology and Venereology in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for last 16 years. In addition to taking lectures and clinical and practical classes in dermatology and venereology for post graduate students of MD, Diploma and FCPS courses in BSMMU as a teacher, she is a supervisor of postgraduate(MD, FCPS) students of Dermatology in the University for assisting in their preparing thesis and dissertation and to facilitate their all academic activities. She has been working as examiners of postgraduate examination of degrees of dermatology like MD, Diploma, MCPS and FCPS, conducted by office of the controller of Examination at BSMMU and BCPS. She serves as examiner of MD and MS thesis examination of different disciplines in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University as well as examiner of Dissertation of FCPS as faculty of dermatology of BCPS. She also has been working as examiner of thesis examination of MPH, conducted by University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has been involved in various research works related to dermatology and public health from the year of 2002 and publishing research works in both national and international journals. Moreover, she also regularly presents her studies in diversified national and international conferences of highly esteemed Medical Associations. She served her duties as a member of Institutional Review Board (IRB) of BSMMU for the last 14 years and also served as a member of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell(IQAC), BSMMU. In addition to this, she is an editorial board member and reviewer for medical journal globally and has been performing responsibilities of different scientific committees of Dermatology as a member of those committees. Intensive involvement in research has led the total number of her published scientific papers to surpass 150 globally. Consequently, she was honored with ‘Research Award 2019’ from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Bangladesh for her outstanding contribution in the field of medical research.
